Clothes that carry stories.
Designed to make you feel a little extra.

'Koya is deeply inspired by Nigerian roots. Born from a deep creative need to make clothes that feel culturally reflective and artistic, our designs make you feel like you are wearing art in your everyday.

Our fabric choices and design principles are layered, not trends. They are infused with stories, poems, and themes from a childhood that never quite fit the expected shape. The designs are explorative, made to help people connect with themselves deeply. To give themselves the permission to be extra. To be free.

People just want to wear well-designed, fun clothes that speak to them. 'Koya does that, with roots deep enough to mean something.

Every piece is an invitation to show up fully. A little rooted. A little free. A little extra.

Meet Hamda - The Person behind 'Koya

I'm a Nigerian creative living in Canada, and 'Koya is one part of a bigger creative life. I design clothes, make short travel films, write poetry, and slowly allow myself to explore every art form that gives my creative mind a chance to breathe.

Everything I do is tied to a story. I believe in the power of stories, real, fictional, or from my very own imagination. I've never quite fit into the box, and whatever I do reflects my hope that people give themselves the permission to be their authentic selves. To be free. To be a little extra.

When I'm not creating, I'm moving. Somewhere in my city, on a plane, a bus, a boat, a walk, just taking it all in. That restless exploration finds its way into everything I make.

The clothes, the films, the poems, all of it lives under one roof: Hamda 'Koya Studio. The through-line is always the same: you do not have to fit into a box. You are allowed to be layered, unexpected, and a little extra.
